Prodotto dalla Force Protection Europe insieme alla Ricardo, è stato realizzato per sostituire lo Snatch Land Rover in dotazione nelle forze armate britanniche.[1][2] L'obiettivo nella creazione del mezzo, era quello di rimpiazzare obsoleto Snatch Land Rover e di migliorare la protezione del personale militare a bordo contro i dispositivi esplosivi improvvisati (IED).

Ogni esemplare del mezzo costa circa 923 000 sterline.[3]

Der Force Protection Ocelot ist ein britischer Panzerwagen, welcher den Snatch Land Rover ersetzen soll.[2][3] Das Fahrzeug erhielt den Dienstnamen Foxhound in Übereinstimmung mit den anderen gepanzerten Radfahrzeugen, die alle die Namen von Hunderassen haben. Beispiele sind die Varianten des Cougar (MRAP) Mastiff, Wolfhound und Ridgeback. Ziel beim Austausch des Snatch Land Rover war es, den Schutz des Personals vor improvisierten Sprengkörpern zu verbessern.

The Force Protection Ocelot is a British armoured vehicle that replaced the United Kingdom's Snatch Land Rover with British forces.[2][3] It received the service name Foxhound, in line with the canine names given to other wheeled armored vehicles in current British use such as Mastiff, Wolfhound, and Ridgeback, which are all variants of the Cougar.
