Der Cruiser Tank AC-1 Sentinel war ein australischer Panzertyp des Zweiten Weltkriegs. Hersteller des Fahrzeugs war das Unternehmen New South Wales Railways. Der Name Sentinel bedeutet Schildwache oder Wächter was darauf hindeutet, dass sich Australien gegen eine japanische Invasion wappnen wollte.

The AC1 Sentinel was a cruiser tank designed in Australia in World War II in response to the war in Europe, and to the threat of Japan expanding the war to the Pacific or even a feared Japanese invasion of Australia. It was the first tank to be built with a hull cast as a single piece, and the only tank to be produced in quantity in Australia. The few Sentinels that were built never saw action as Australia's armoured divisions had been equipped by that time with British and American tanks.[2]

Австралийский крейсерский танк «Сентинел» (англ. Australian Cruiser Tank Sentinel, от англ. sentinel — «часовой») — австралийский средний крейсерский танк времён Второй мировой войны, средний по массе. Был создан в 1942 году, когда Австралии для отражения грозившего японского вторжения срочно был необходим танк, способный производиться полностью силами австралийских предприятий. В 1942—1943 годах было выпущено 68 «Сентинелов» в нескольких вариантах. Танк использовался австралийскими войсками до 1945 года, исключительно в учебно-тренировочных целях, так как к 1943 году уже стали доступны более совершенные танки «Шерман» производства США.
